A warm, relaxed portrait of wedding celebrant Maxine Ward

Contact

Let’s start the conversation.

Tell me where you’re getting married, what you’ve got planned so far and, most importantly, a little about how you found each other.

Bring the stories. The ordinary ones. The ridiculous ones. The ones you’ve told a hundred times and the ones you’ve almost forgotten.

We’ll start there, and see where the conversation takes us.

Usually within one working day. If you haven’t heard back within two, do please chase me — it will mean something has gone astray.

What happens next

There’s nothing to prepare.

  1. You get in touch

A few lines is plenty. I’ll come back to you within a working day.

  2. We talk

A call, a video chat or a coffee. About an hour, and no obligation at all.

  3. You decide

If it feels right, we begin. If it doesn’t, that’s completely fine too.

Before you write

A few things worth knowing.

We haven’t booked a venue yet. Is it too early?

Not at all — and in some ways it’s the ideal moment. Knowing how you’d like your ceremony to feel can genuinely change which venue you choose, and there are a handful of questions worth asking on a viewing that most couples only think of afterwards. Do get in touch anyway.

Do you have our date available?

Send it over and I’ll tell you straight away. I only ever take one wedding per day, so dates do go, particularly summer Saturdays. If your date has gone I’ll happily point you towards other celebrants I trust.

How much does a ceremony cost?

Fees depend on the ceremony, the location and how much is involved, so I’ll send you full details as soon as I know a little about your day. Everything is quoted as a single, inclusive fee — there are no extras added later.

We’re getting married abroad. Do you travel?

Yes. Destination weddings are some of my favourite ceremonies to create, and much of the planning happens by video anyway. Travel and accommodation are quoted separately and transparently.

Is a celebrant ceremony legally binding?

Not in England and Wales. Almost every couple completes the legal paperwork separately at a register office, usually in a short appointment before the wedding. Your celebrant ceremony is then the one your guests attend and the one you’ll remember as your wedding. There’s more detail on the Your Ceremony page.

From the moment we met her, we felt her warmth and instantly knew she was the right celebrant for us.
